MARJORIE LUND, P.E., S.E.

Marjorie has 30 years in structural engineering working on a wide range of public and private sector work. She has designed medical centers, high-rise office buildings, long-span convention centers, educational facilities, libraries, community centers, zoos and residences. Her in-depth knowledge of bringing together all the building systems along with her structural expertise makes her a valuable team member on building projects.

Marjorie has performed seismic studies and renovations on hundreds of buildings in the western states. She has designed seismic upgrades on historic structures & essential medical and first-response facilities.

In 2009 Marjorie started a Sustainability Design Committee for the Structural Engineers Association of Washington. The committee is writing articles on green design issues in the Northwest and working to increase knowledge for structural engineers in the area. Marjorie serves on a committee for the Washington State Board of Registration for Engineers that administers the Structural Licensing Examination. She has participated in writing and administering the Structural Licensing Exam for 22 years.

Marjorie’s clients perceive her as an exceptionally talented and experienced engineer. As one remarked, “She knows how to read an architect’s mind. There are very few who are that good.” “Direct and easy to deal with,” “honest and forthright,” and “a natural collaborator” are some other descriptions of what makes her so effective at working with architectural project teams. We think they are responding to Marjorie’s genuine enjoyment in participating on design teams and having the opportunity to contribute to the design dialogue.
